WELCOME TO bicycleSAVANNAH, LLC

The President and Founder is Dave Sanderson. He began bicycling fifteen years ago to assist in controlling diagnosed Type II Diabetes by bicycling up to 100 miles a week during the season. He founded bicycleSAVANNAH, LLC eight years ago.

Starting with a cheap mountain bike, Dave progressed to a racing bicycle and eventually won nine medals in Local and State Senior Olympics and qualified twice the National Senior Games. He has previously been a member of the Chatham County CUTS Advisory Committee of the MPC, participated in the Georgia Games Torch Run as it’s oldest member (cycling as a team member for 400 miles in a week), participated in the annual Bicycle Ride Across Georgia (BRAG) seven times, as well as Cycle South Carolina, and several events in Florida lasting up to seven days of bicycling. He is a member and is past President of the Coastal Bicycle Touring Club and a member of the National Bicycle Tour Directors Association. Dave is an advocate for better bicycling in Savannah, GA and is a member and participant in the Savannah Bicycle Campaign.

He recently transferred all rights to his previous events; The Jekyll Island Challenge, the Historic Savannah Bikefest, and the Jingle Bell Ride to new owners. Please go to the following link for more information and registration for those events:

Born in Birmingham, Al, Dave is a graduate of Auburn University. He is also a Presbyterian Elder, and has four children, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and is widowed from the late Virginia Rogers to whom he was married for 50 years.
